Poetry

I never started out writing Poetry. To be honest, I hated English class until I was in 9th grade. Ms. Hall was my AP English teacher. Every week we'd have a new essay to write. I loved it, but still I didn't get into writing poetry until later. I was always an artist, sketcher, drawer or whatever you want to call it. I always had a sketch book and I remember I used to buy comics so I could sketch the superheros. At times I'd dream I would create my own comic with my own story-lines. I spent hours upon hours sitting and drawing everything I could.

One day, my gma Sunshine gave me a book and told me it was a journal and I should continuously write in it. I didn't want to be a guy and write in journals but I took the book and thanked her. I still drew in that book for a while and then began writing in it. The writings were just thoughts, which became poems. I remember sharing some here and there and getting good feedback. After awhile I decided to post them online, which also got a lot of good feedback.

It wasn't until my senior year of highschool that I realized I was a poet. I joined a group called City Wide Poets. This group taught me to write different forms of poetry, how to perform and improved my writing. Without this group I wouldn't be the artist I am. I love poetry and will do my best to spread my words to whoever wants to listen. So thank you to everyone who listened to my lame first poems. I appreciate the help and support. I now know I am a poet and love hearing others do poetry. It is my life.

I poet.
